How clearing accounts work
When you connect your Stripe account, ClearingHouse will create a clearing account in FreeAgent — a bank account to represent the balance transactions in your Stripe account.
Each Stripe balance transaction is recorded here: payments in, fees charged, and payouts out. Each transaction is categorised and explained so it makes sense in your accounts.
ClearingHouse creates a separate clearing account for each balance / settlement currency you hold in Stripe.

When you add a new settlement currency, ClearingHouse will create a new clearing account for it the first time it sees a transaction from that balance.
You can compare your live Stripe balance against each clearing account's FreeAgent balance from the Connections page — see what to do if your balances don't match.
